LEAVING REEF
The house reef, begins at the east of 3rd beach. This reef fascinates all divers, beginners and experienced alike, for its abundace of marine life. There are schools of soft corals and the smaller but vibrantly colourful typical reef fish, as well as the ever present house octopus to be observed on every dive. Eels can be seen, especially during the summer months, also with some luck you may encounter a sea horse. Smaller life forms are abundant and make fantastic macro opportunities for the U/W photographer. Visibility can be expected to be between 10 and 25m. Due to the water current condition of the mandayla bay very spectacular soft coral formations have evolved. The reef falls off gradually from shallow water to a depth of about 5-8 meters of sandy bottom (ideal for beginners). |
